The saloon had seemingly begun to quiet down. Likely, a good thing after it had seen so much excitement only a short time before. Most, if not all of the others had carried on, moving on to their own things and leaving the Shistas to their own devices.
So it was that Mune was after a few moments to collect themself, back on their feet and approaching the group. They eyed Tsunn and K'varr wearily. Carr had no such difficulties engaging with strangers.
“Oh totally! I sliced my way into more than a few awesome files!” Carr grinned, then, seeing Mune finally joining them, prodded Doon. “Mune was checking out your butt.”
“I will smother you in your sleep…” Mune muttered before sitting at the bar.
Doon’s eye rolled slightly but he repressed a chuckle. He glanced at the smaller white Shistavanen before giving a blunt “Mune’s seen it enough” his flat tone almost hiding the fact that he was teasing.
He sat with the others, between his size and his armor, the chair creaked under him as he settled. His eye took in the other two, bouncing between them as he cleaned a bloody smear off his paw. “I know what it is like to feel less than what I am meant to be. I may not understand all of your struggles, but the strive to find a home is not an uncommon one for our kind that wander from Uvena. Or those that never knew it’s forests.”
Setting a bloody cloth down, he used his freshly cleaned paw to gesture to the barkeep. He indicated for Four drinks to be split between them. He purposefully eyes Carr and rumbles out “try again in a few years.”
Mune squeaked and looked completely flustered. “Have not! I mean… no… I mean… hey!”
They huffed and made a show of staring pointedly at the countertop. Carr snickered some, taking a seat on his sibling’s left. He was all grins until Doon refused to buy him a drink.
“I am plenty old enough for a proper drink! Come on!” Carr grumbled. He scowled quite well with that muzzle of his.
Tsunn and K'Varr looked at each other. These siblings were so different than themselves, but also so similar. Considering Doon’s words they thought about the possibility of staying on this planet. The potential of placing down roots was appealing, but what was more inviting was the potential to learn from others like them.
K'Varr closes their eyes and leaned back.
“I would like to think we could thrive here, among you.”
Tsunn smiled and relaxed.
“For now, at least, we would like to try living for once.”
The smaller of the twins then turned to the white Shistavanen, Mune.
“The large one does have a butt. I can’t fault you for taking in such a sight.” They stuck out their tongue as they teased them.
Doon’s eyebrow raises as he looks between the two smaller Shista. He glanced at the larger, trying to gauge a reaction before responding. “I don’t mind people lookin’. Ain’t no harm in it. Long as I get to know when they’re peeping.” He rumbles a low chuckle as four drinks are delivered to the table.
He wraps his large paw around one and raises it for a taste. Out of habit, he chased the taste with a snarl and growl. After, he eyes the other adults at the table, glad they share a common, fairly unknown language. “It’s good to hear. A chance is all you’ll need to see the potential here. And, if you get tired of looking. Im sure you could ask real nice for a touch.” The large Shista blinked. Winked? And let out another velvety chuckle while sipping.
Mune turns to openly stare, muzzle agape. “Are you… flirting?”
They could not remember the larger Shista openly flirting before. It made their ears perk, and it was just lucky their fur hid their blush. It did not help that Tsunn was teasing them too. The white-furred Shista huffed and flagged down the bartender to hide their awkwardness.
Carr appeared a little lost for a moment before arching a brow and uttering, “Ew…”
“You will be checking out butts, eventually, yourself Carr… gods forbid…” Mune muttered. “So what are we drinking?” they tried for a topic change.
Tsunn grinned at Doon’s comment, the implications fairly obvious. K'Varr noticed as well and their right eye twitched. Grabbing hold of a glass, they kicked their sibling under the table, jealousy brimming slightly. Tsunn looked to their twin, surprised. K'Varr had rarely, if ever, shown interest in anyone.
They gave their twin a reassuring nod. They wouldn’t pursue the large one, but they would still enjoy poking fun.
Hearing the young whites exclamation of disgust and the older white’s words of teasing fun, Tsunn decided to join in. Grabbing a drink of their own, they joined their twin in drinking.
“Butts…and more. There are other parts that are oh so much more intriguing to assess and gage. Visually, and physically.”
Tsunn winked at the young one as they had to hold back a chuckle. They loved pushing buttons.
Doon shrugged at Mune’s question, not confirming or denying anything. He busied himself with enjoying his drink for a few moments, watching Tsunn tease the others more.
Eventually his eye drifted to K’Varr, looking them over casually. They had rushed to help him fight a sith, despite the sheer danger that placed them in. It was respectable, and awoke a distant pain. How many didn’t make it doing exactly that for him?
He raised his glass towards them, offering a subtle toast for their help before tossing back more of his drink. He rolls his neck, paw reaching up to tug at the collar of his armor while surprising another cough. “Need to get out of this some time. Or get something more comfortable to wear under it, if that exists.” He mumbles about the classic struggle of thick fur and hot suits.
Mune arched a brow but kept the thoughts and images in their head to themself. They accepted the drink from the bartender and took a sip. They turned, giving their tail a saucy flip before leaning their back against the counter, both elbows resting on the surface. Their glance swept the saloon.
“Well… can I have something to drink at least?”
“Water,” Mune said firmly.
“Oh, come on!” Carr exclaimed.
“Bartender, he can have whatever he likes so long as there is no alcohol in it, please,” Mune smirked.
K'Varr matched Doon’s raised glass and drank, allowing themselves to relax a bit. Their guard hadn’t been down in so long that their shoulders ached with tension. They listened to Doon’s armor critique before looking to their sibling and back.
“Tsunn is very good with building things. They put together my armor from scraps of discarded plating and mechanics. I’m sure they could assist you with your armor situation.”
Tsunn grinned at their twins proclamations. It was nice to see them let loose a bit. Then again, if this was letting loose, they both needed some work in that area.
“Yeah, I’d be cool with that. Just let me know what you mean. I’m sure K'Varr would be happy to help get some…measurements.” as they spoke they took their time looking the large Shistavanen up and down.
Doon sat back a bit, eyeing the two sets of siblings before turning his attention to K’Varr. He shifts slightly, leaning more towards them as he gave them a curious look. “Is that so? I’ve had people struggle to handle taking my measurements in the past. Think you’ll manage?” He sipped from his glass, flickering his eye to Mune and Tsunn. His drink hid a mischievous twist of his lips while he placed his attention back on the dark Shista.
Mune groaned and shook their head. They downed their drink and ordered another immediately. They were going to need it. Carr looked confused, and Mune would do nothing to explain either. “Perhaps cover your ears for the moment, Carr?”
“I read Zig’s fanfic. Don’t think I don’t know what you are talking about,” he pulled a face. “You guys are gross.”
“Spirits help me…” Mune muttered. “So how about those… sports… teams? That is a thing, right?”
K'Varr locked their eyes with Doon’s one. Their mouth twisted into a grin as they continued their drink.
“I’m sure I can manage. I’m good with my hands as well, and I haven’t met I weapon I couldn’t handle yet.”
“Hmm.” Doon feigned a pondering state before nodding and downing the rest of his drink. “Well, I suppose we’ll see about that, won’t we?” He rumbled out in Shistavanen, obviously enjoying the teasing. He gave K’Varr another look over, as if appraising a nice meal before devouring it. He tapped his large, metal tipped claws on the wooden counter a few times, thinking. He seemed only momentarily distracted by a series of thoughts.
Mune grinned, turning on the barstool so their elbows rested on the bar top, leaning back. A brow arched, “You are eyeing them like they were a steak, Sulvir.”
Carr stuck out his tongue, “You’re all weird…”
Mune’s eyes shone with amusement. They did not even think about it, leaning against the bar, tail giving a saucy swish as if to attract the eye to the curve of their posterior. They, too, had a good look at K'Varr.
K'Varr could sense the tension in the air. Doon and Mune were clearly not leaving much to the imagination in terms of their…desires. The Shistavanan grinned before answering with a wicked tongue.
“I’m a steak best served rare. I tend to bite back. Devour me at your own risk.” They delivered their response with a sly grin and an unshy wink.
Tsunn was certainly impressed by K'Varr’s openess. Whatever they were drinking was clearly loosening them up. The smaller twin decided to lean back and enjoy the show.
Mune was about to sip their drink but, immediately started choking. K'Varr’s remark caught them off guard. They coughed, trying to clear their airway.
“Subtle…” Carr mumbled.
The white-furred Shistavanen waved off the bartender’s concerned glance. They continued to cough for another moment or two. “Warn a girl!” Mune exclaimed.
Tsunn let out a chuckle at the young Carr’s statement, and Mune’s choking.
“K'Varr has the subtlety of a brick wall. It has its trade offs.”
K'Varr shot a slight glare at their twin.
Doon chuckles and orders another drink for himself, and any who needed it. His eye bounced between the twins be he leaned closer to K’Varr and rumbled out “I’m a fan of enjoying things Raw~ and I don’t mind being bit if you don’t. Though, I’m sure you’ll be left marked in a few more ways than bites.” He takes another sip of his drink, not being subtle in any way. More curious to see their reaction.
Mune muzzle palmed. All subtlety out the window. Though, Mune figured perhaps some of that blame fell on them. They shifted so they were seated a bit less… attention seeking? They shifted their gaze to Tsunn.
“The big guys know not the art of subtlety, do they.” Mune asked with a sheepish grin.
Tsunn leaned over to reply.
“With K'Varr things are very straight forward. What you see is what you get. But I’m surprised they’re saying more than 2 words to anyone, if I’m being honest. So, subtle or not, good for them.”
If K'Varr could blush, their furr would be dyed red. But they were also highly excited and intrigued and those with a particularly good sense of smell would realize that.
“You just name the time and place, and we’ll see just who gets the most marked up between us.”
Doon rumbled, His Bright golden eye peering into K'Varr’s. His left ear perked, and his nose twitched. Despite the faded senses, he could still pick up that specific Scent. “If there weren’t so many Arconans here I’d Say right here, right now. Though, for now, it would be best to wait till we are done here.”
Mune’s ears twitched and they grinned at the two before turning their attention fully to Tsunn. “So, you are a slicer?”
“Ooh yes! Tell us about that!” Carr exclaimed excitedly. “I’ve mostly been messing with Voidbreaker’s systems… of course… being careful not to break anything cause Zig is awesome and I don’t want to be too much of a pain.” The last added when Mune shoots him a bit of an eye roll.
“He is not incorrect… he has been behaved for the most part.”
“You lead the way.”
K'Varr was entirely ignoring their twin, much to Tsunn’s amusement. Their twin had never looked so relaxed, and Tsunn hoped staying here would be healthy and beneficial.
Turning to Mune and Carr, they heard the question about slicing and almost purred with excitement.
“Oh yeah, I uhh…had to do some less than…ethical things…to get by while K'Varr and I have been on the run. Ever hear of Czerka Interstellar? I hacked into their systems and stole a fee thousand credits…… and a ship. I ain’t proud of that. But we were running for our lives and let me tell you what, they ain’t exactly saints there. I found some things in their managements hard drives that would curdle your stomach. So….I may have sent some reports to the authorities at the same time. With evidence of course.”
Carr’s face practically lit up.
“No trying to steal the Voidbreaker II please… I rather like living on the ship… Carr…”
The caremel coloured Shistavanen blinked then crossed his arms, “Oh come on! I would never steal… that ship…”
“Any ship…”
“Laaaaaaame,” Carr grinned again, “That sounds so awesome Tsunn! I’d totally love to see what you could do! Mune cannot slice at all. They always have their muzzle in a book or staring blankly at nothing… They claim to be looking into the future but really, I know they are just daydreaming or thinking about some guys’…”
“Hey!”
“Don’t be knocking on books. How do you think I learned what I know. As for looking to the future. Sometimes that not such a bad thing. And trust me in a few years you’ll be all about the ladies…or guys…or whatever you want really. Except for disgusting things that if we found out about you’d be strung up by your tail.”
Saying that, Tsunn’s eyes went wide before looking to Mune and nervously laughing.
“Not that id ever want to hurt your sibling or anything.”
Mune shrugged, “Why not? I want to hurt him on the regular. So do a fair number of the crew.”
Carr puffed out his chest, “Jealous of these mad skills, the lot of ya.”
“Sure, let us go with that.” Mune smirked and shook their head.
The Red fur Shistavanen came inside of the Saloon. He heard about group of individuals of the same race as him, having a drinks night. Immediately he recognised group and with big smiled asked them.
“Hello! Is it too late for a drinks?”
And he pulled a bottle full of liquid out of the side pocket of his clothes.
