Session export: Adventures in the Caelus System

While the Brotherhood’s issues with the Collective continue to escalate, much within the Southern Outer Rim has remained fairly calm…for the most part.

While a portion of the Taldryan Fleet remains deadlocked in the Dalicron Sector War, back home things seem to be doing well.

Kasiya: The skirmishes between Caleria and Port Kasiya have fully ceased, and new trade agreements have been created that have started to reunite the two major cities. The rest of the planet, seems fairly normal as well.

Chyron: The Ecumenopolis has solidified its strength under the not iron fisted control of Chancellor <@414705077484257280> Na'trej, who had made it into a respectable world. Crime and piracy has been increasing in recent months, however, and a currently unknown faction seems to be working against him and his governance…

Ostara: The deadly ion storms that have ravaged the upper atmosphere have begun to break, allowing for more free travel to and from the surface. While navigational maps are no longer required, journies outside of the Citadel are still ill-advised due to the frequency of heavy storms and lightning strikes. Given how long its been since anyone has been beyond the city’s outer barriers, who knows what lies beyond…

Interitus Cairn: Thanadris has grown into a decent sized city, with most of the debris around the former Jedi outpost having been cleared away. The Thanadris Jedi have gained a positive status with most inhabitants of the Western Continent, though remain neutral with the pirates entrenched within the Southern Archipelago. At last, journies to the east have begun to explore what lies beyond in what many see as ‘the new world’.

Elysia: Now under the control of Vice-Chancellor <@344514349345275904>, the once highly productive ice city has re-started many of its foundries and blast furnaces that previously had been shut down at the order of then-Vice-Chancellor Koda Kendis. Strange acts of sabotage have continuously interrupted their progress, however, resulting in frequent shut downs. What, or who is causing it, is unknown..

Nearly a week had passed since she set out from Thanadris and sailed across the ocean to the western edges of what the locals called, the ‘Central Grasslands’.

Datapad in tow, she had taken it upon herself to map out the areas she had visited since there was no major offical record mapping out any of this close up, aside from general orbital scans.

The sights were…exhilarating, to say the least. Fjords, various types of highlands with dozens of local flora and fauna that she logged down as living there.

Days had passed before she came across a dirt-based road, evidence of others living in the region. Being forced to pick one path, she chose the southeastern path that would lead to what looked like dense woodland in the far far distance.

Knowing it would be another couple of days before she reached it, she set up camp a little ways off the road near a small stream as the sun fell. From her envoy bag, she had set up a tent and created a small fire where Alaisy sat and pecked away at small berries.

Nearby, Cassandra was in the stream washing up from the long day. She had dispatched an invite to a select few others, in case they wanted to join in the adventure. Its was something out of the ordinary, and very different from the norm. So far none had arrived, but that could always change.

Aylin had been going through the forest for a long while now and had about enough of it. When she heard water nearby she was overjoyed and rushed towards it only to stumble and made a less then calculated tumble down the hill only to stop mere centimeters from the edge of the lake.

“Sure, mock me some more you leavy annoyance!”

With a grunt she got up and stepped into the lake, letting herself fell into it after a few steps.

“Ah, much better.”

She dived underwater and swam around a bit until her datapad gave off a ping. Pulling the device from her pocket she looked at it and smiled. It showed a ping of were Cassandra would be. Putting it back into her pocket she swam towards the location.

When she got close to the stream, she surfaced just enough to look over the water surface and grinned. Going du duu, du duu in her mind as she swam closer and jumped out of the water,.

“Splash attack!”

Minutes before Aylin’s assault, Cass was letting herself float on the top of the water, eyes closed with the moon above. The sound of the moving water around her ears was…soothing.

She was deep in thought, as she often still was, about her future and the future of everything around. The nightmares had finally came to an end, a sign that Jorm must have succeeded against Darth Binks.

It was also nice being away from everything in a place where she could finally just…relax. No Dalicron war, no construction, no being made to study Jedi texts day in and day out by the senior-most ultra-orthodox proto jedi as if she were being groomed to assume the mantle of leadership once more following the doctrines of what they remembered as the High Republic.

It honestly frightened her. For over a decade, she knew who she was, what she had made herself to be. A politician supporting the people over herself, bolstering herself using that self-same pillar. Now, though, it all felt fake to her. Those days were gone, as was everything she had accomplished on Ostara and Kasiya both.

Aside from a couple of times, Ood and many of the others never even reached out to her anymore. The same was for Zuza as well after the last visit from her and Jorm.

That self-sacrificial pillar was all but nearly eroded away now, showing how vulnerable she was. At the same time, it was what afforded her the opportunity to finally figure out how to be…herself.

It also left her isolated and alone, a dangerous combination when the feelings of her fall from power came to the forefront. Though he was gone, the hissing words of Binks haunted and tormented her still now. She wished she had a way to escape this dark mental depressive state, but no matter how hard she tried, it felt like she was deep underwater staring at the surface far above.

At least, for this brief moment…her mind was clear.

That clarity, however, allowed Aylin to sneak up.

She heard muffled words due to her ears being underwater.

“pwash tack!”

The next thing she knew, water was splashing over her as Aylin jumped from the water. This startled Cassandra, who immediately was jolted from her brief moment of clearmindedness.

Unknowing who it was at first, she immediately turned with water-innundated open eyes and using a combination of telekinesis and matter bending to raise a wall of water between her and the newcomer to separate them before letting it fall forward onto them like a roaring wave.

If she could blink, she would have and let out a yelp of surprise as the wave picked her up and pushed her away. Then she started laughing and used hands and feet to glide.

“If I knew this I would have brought my waveboard!”

When the wave died she dove underwater and quickly swam back to Cass, running her fingers over the soles of her feet, making them jerk away, before surfacing again before her.

“Hi! Nice waves you make, bit more practice and they will be perfect for wave riding,” she said with the biggest grin on her face you could imagine

Cassandra glared. Of course, Aylin would choose the non-traditional entrance.

She sat there, and floated in place in the water through the simple use of telekinesis.

“I’ll…make sure they are to your satisfaction the next time, Miss Sajark.” She responded with an intentful playfulness. It made sense she had managed to sneak up on her. She was a Nautolan, of course.

Before Aylin could know what was up next, a second and much larger wave came from slightly further away. Followed by another on its heels, almost like an ocean.

“Splash attack!”

She wanted waves to surf on…she was gonna get waves. Could use the telekinetic matter bending practice anyways.

Some time would pass before the two were finally tired, and Cassandra made her way to the edge of the water. She climbed out, the water flowing down her black neoprine suit and down her legs.

Reaching to her hair, she wrung it out as she walked towards the now long expired fire. With a gesture of her hand, some nearly chopped wood floated from nearby onto the pile. Another gesture would see a sudden ignition within it that would set the wood ablaze. Alaisy turned its head curiously and flew over with several berries to drop them into her hand.

Cassandra sat down by the fire to dry off, smiling as she took the berries.

“Thank you my friend.”

“Oh no!” The Mirialan exclaimed as she pouted, her lower lip puckering out while her cheeks puffed up. Her hair was up in a ponytail to keep from her wild strands going all over the place.

“Did I miss out on the swimming already? Aw man..” Sofila grumbled as she sat down by the fire with a towel draped over her shoulder.

“I got lost coming here….”

“Nature didn’t like me going here either. But you got here, that is important.” Aylin said with a grin.

Leaning in, she whispered, “I’m sure we can convince her to more water fun later.”

“You got lost too? Seesh, maybe there’s something wonky here that’s messing up our signals. That is true, I did get here!” Sofila noticed that Aylin was leaning in so she also tilted her body towards that direction. Her lips curved into a mischievous smile before she gave Aylin a single nod with a wink.

It was a deal.

“So!” Sofila started as she tried to act discreet, “how’s everyone been?”

“I’ve been fairly well.” Cassandra responded as she telekinetically moved more wood onto the fire, giving it a few extra sparks with a gesture of her finger once it was in place. “Been quite a long time since we’ve last seen each other, almost two years.”

The moon was at its peak now high in the sky, giving some decent illumination of the ground below. A soft breeze made the grass and trees be heard, the leaves flowing about in the air.

“Almost didn’t expect anyone else to join me on this little adventure.”

She turned and reached into her envoy pack, and fished out some small snacks that she threw to the two of them. “Gonna start cooking the main meal soon, then we can eat.”

While she prepared that, Alaisy pecked around on the ground, collecting small bits of stuff here and there. She was making a small nest for the night.

A small pot floated above the fire with a bubbling liquid. Cassandra handled everything telekinetically, adding in some vegetables she had gathered followed by a nice lean looking meat.

Once it was in, she looked to Sofila.

“How have things been on Kasiya? In the capital?”

“Main meal? Ooooh, what’s that going to be?” Sofila inquired as she blinked when Cassandra asked about Kasiya.

“It’s different from Selen that’s for sure. The climate, the people, everything. But Cole and I do like it here better. However, it’s been.. an adjustment.”

“Steamed Porgs.” she said with a smirk. “It’s an Albany, Kasiya thing.” A stick made its way into the pot and began to stir it, without being held. More telekinetic madness.

“And I can imagine. When I first visited there from being in the Citadel on Ostara for so long, it was vastly different compared to what I had been used to. In a way, I kind of…miss it.”

Sofila blinked.

“Wait- Huh? Ostara has a Citadel? Man, I need to explore more. We’ve - Cole and I mean, we’ve been so busy. I had more time than him though and explored alot but it was all on Kasiya and I haven’t got to ventured further just yet.”

Sofila felt a bit weird watching Cassandra openly using her Force considering the way she was raised. Buir did his best but his distaste was evident, even when she was young. Sofila doesn’t even like it due to her biological mother and her short upbringing with her, but she had no problem calling for the Force when it came to use it.

“I need to get out more anyway,” Aylin blurted out as she stared at the magically moving spoon.

“Don’t you get tired from using your spacemagic that much?” She asked as she finally looked up towards Cassandra.

“It does. Though getting to that world is quite difficult, it’s surrounded by a fierce and thick ion storm that requires specific traversal routes to get past. Because of that, not many visit it.” she responded first to Sofila, before looking at Aylin. “I used to a long time ago, but I’ve come to be quite used to it now. I’ve even reached a point where I can control the finer parts of particles, and with practice my skills remain at their peak. It isn’t often I get to spar or fight anyone anymore, so I have to find ways to maintain myself.”

“You can always hop by to test out my droids if you feel bored,” Aylin said with a chuckle. “They can also be adapted in how they fight.”

“Oh. Okay, that makes sense. Huh.” Though Sofila started to wonder to what it would be like to orbit jump through such an ion storm. Goosebumps appeared on her green skin as she shivered for a moment when a chill went down her spine.

Orbit jumping? Huge hobby for her. Through a storm however?

Absolutely no fracking thank you. Sofila blinked when Cassandra brought up controlling particles. That did not bode well. She hasn’t yet approached a Force User that was able to do so. Well, until now. Heck, she doesn’t even know if that was something she can do. Her relationship with the Force was more complicated than she thought.

Aylin offered her droids and grinned. She remembered her Buir having her siblings and her try training with droids which just backfired and had siblings trained on each other instead.

“Haven’t trained with droids in several years,” Sofila admitted. Life had a funny way of throwing things that you just end up traning with enemies.

“I might have to take you up on that.” Cass mentioned, as she caught on that Sofila was acting strange. She reached out and started using the spoon with her hand instead now, but still letting the pot hover above the fire since there was nothing else to hold it up with. It wasn’t long before the porg was done, and plates were shared. “Let’s eat, then pack up and continue on. There’s supossed to be a town only a couple hours walk ahead.”

Aylin smiled and nodded, “Sounds like a perfect plan. We should plan when you would like to come by for training so that I can prepare.”

“Definitely” she responded with a soft smile as she stood up and proceeded to the tent. “I’ll be back, gotta finish getting dressed now that my underclothes are dried.”

She made her way inside, and once there she let out a slight sigh and started packing things up. It had been a nice break, and by the time she got everything packed they should be done with eating. That also gave Aylin and Sofila a chance to talk a bit as well.

“You said you haven’t trained with or against droids in a long time,” Aylin said as she looked towards Sofila. “You are free to try again if you want. I got a big viarity of training programs and droids to practice with.”

Aylin finished her meal and watched the forest. “I hope this time it doesn’t make us go lost again.”

“Town? Why are we going to the town? Do we have plans? Oooh, will there be a scavenger hunt?” Sofila exclaimed as she glanced to Aylin and shook her head.

“Nah, I prefer to spar or actually fight people. I mean, we haven’t really been fighting droids lately right?” Sofila grinned. She had no idea what was coming.

“We shouldn’t be lost this time, we got Cassandra!” Sofila patted Aylin on the back before looking over to her, “… right?”
