Session export: Oodles of Noodles 2

*A small patio outside with several tables and chairs was surrounded with a small buffer against wind and a waist high gate leading to a landing pad that was only large enough to accomodate 2 taxis at a time.

Inside, a blend of cultures sat behind the decor, reds, golds, deep dark green, and gilt-framed paintings of landscapes from maybe 5-6 different planets. A bar stretched along a counter, glass half domes protecting a work space, pristine white boards, green sheets and planks of fish filets filled maybe a 3rd of the case. The rest, buckets of various colored vegetables, sauces and thinly sliced meats.

On the back wall, large vats of simmering water, and broths, a small grill and a flattop. To the side, a rack from floor to ceiling featuring slide out trays, the contents of which were mostly out of sight.

Welcome to Oodles of Noodles, approach the counter, pick your ingredients and how you want them cooked, pay and sit down. Lasty, Enjoy!*

One small, older woman, maybe around 60, walked the floor, wiping tables and refilling the table seasonings and dipping sauces, and chili paste containers. 2 men, both in their late 20s stood behind the counter making final preperations, fluffing a large wooden vat of pearly white rice. The other currently hauling boxes of rice-wine, beer and fizz towards a standing fridge behind the register. When the woman was done, she pulled a simple red apron over her head, stepped towards the door and unlocked it, flipping on the sign that signalled they were open.

Right as the sign flipped, in walked a very dark cloud in very soiled vestments. Red splotches mixed with green sprays topped off by a purple hue across the human’s exposed arms. The vestments were alleged to be stark white but was rapidly losing the battle.

The character took a wide stance as piercing eyes surveyed the space.

It had been a long day full of emotion. The war had finished and now it was a matter of picking up again where life had been left off.

“Noodles, that sounds good.”

Tasha’vel arrived at the Noodle Shop once again; it had now become one of her favorite spots for comfort food and perhaps company. She opened the door and sauntered in. In front of her was a rather colorful person she had never met before, standing and looking about.

Interesting.. She thought as she looked at the menu and began to peruse for what she would like.

Zeva bounced while she skipped her way to the front gate, stopping to read the name of the noodle shop. She waited as patiently as she could for her father, as he was slow to get out of the taxi they had taken. Nursing numerous broken bones, including ribs and a fractured right arm, which was currently being held in a loose sling. He had few new superficial small scars along his arms and chest.

“Aunt Hiri, says this place has really good food,” Zeva hopped from foot to foot in place. “The food smells yummy.”

“Yes Zeva, I’m up for a good meal,” chuckled the tall Togruta, as he limped to stand beside his daughter. “And we’re meeting a friend, well technically a family member, here as well. Haven’t seen em in a bit.”

“Oooooh,” the little hybrids bright eyes grew big, while she bounced with barely contained excitement. “Who are we meeting? Do I know them already? Do they have pets? Are they nice?”

One of the young men, approached the end of the counter and beckoned the colorful individual,“ Let me know if you have any questions. The older woman also stepped forward and motioned for Tasha'vel,” Welcome back, whenever you’re ready dear.“

She smiled at the older lady as she stepped up. “Think I will have a ramen bowl with some nerf tenderloin and some sushi with some green tea please.”

“ Would you like a traditional ramen set up?” she asked.

“Absolutely.” She smiled softly. “After a long day just trying to relax, that sounds quite lovely.”

She nods and steps towards the racks, picking up a small pile of fresh noodles, and setting them to cook, ladleing some light tan broth into a bowl and picking slices of nerf meat, leaning them against the side of the bowl and added the noodles when they were done. Then scooping green onions, some small tan strips on the top with two sheets of seaweed and a soft boiled egg, setting it on a tray and taking it towards the register. Meanwhile, the youngest of her sons walked over and made up 4 peices of nigiri, two with a pink-meat fish and the other two with a white fleshed fish. Setting them on a small plate with some green paste and a small pile of ginger. At the register, the older woman got out a small teapot and filled it with water and a pouch of leaves, adding it and a handleless teacup to the tray, and started ringing it up when the sushi arrived,“ Ramen, sushi and green tea comes to 16 credits.”

“Of course you know me already, Zeva,” came Bril’s voice as he stepped into the establishment shortly after his godsister and her father arrived. He was dressed in functional yet fashionable clothes with designs harkening to motifs employed by the Jedi of the High Republic era; tunics of black and mahogany with asymmetrically cut tails were bound by a chestnut brown belt with the Erinos logo emblazoned on the buckle.

Pulling back the hood of his cloak, he ran a hand through a sea of caf-brown locs bound by the golden scarf tied around his forehead. Then, he hoisted Zeva off the ground before pulling her into a tight hug. “So good to see you, little one,” he said in fluent Togruti.

While holding Zeva in one arm, he extended his gloved left hand to shake Ro’s. “Been keeping your dad out of trouble, Zeva?”

“Thank you, it smells delicious. Here are the credits” She replied handing the payment over to the older woman and waited patiently before taking the tray to one of the tables and sat down.

Mr. Colorful’s eyes followed the interaction, dawdling too long on the food as made it way through hands and carried to the table.

Breaking his gaze, he bored his eyes into the menu board and squeaked. Eyebrows crooked and throat cleared as he tried again. “What is simplest?”, he croaked.

The older woman smiled warmly, matronly,“ Here you are dear, enjoy.”

The older son, talking to Mr. Colorful,“ Depends, do you want a soup, or sauced, I can make a recommndation based on your preferance.”

<@348547724628721695>

“Way my jaw feels, soup is probably best. Spicy too.”

“That I can do.” he nodded, and set about making a bowl of noodle soup, keeping in mind what Mr Colorful said about his jaw, the fresh noodles, cooked, the broth ladled with chili oil added, a soft boiled egg cut in half, and the tenderest meat a belly cut, with toppings less likely to get caught in teeth, soft root vegetables and slices of squash. Certainly not a traditional bowl of noodles, but easy to eat with a jaw injury, and with the bigger vegetables more hearty. He topped the bowl of soup off with a small piled of herbs, something they added when someone who was clearly injured came in.

He set the bowl on a tray,“ May I recommend the ginger turmeric tea?” he asked as he started towards the register.

“BRIL!!!” The tiny squealed with excitement as she was lifted into the air. While within the hug, she replied back in Togruti, “Good to see you too. I missed you.”

Ro smiled and watched the little reunion, before grasping the Zabrak’s hand. “She’s tried her best, but I’m too slippery.”

“Yeah, can’t really watch him, especially when Zoko distracts me,” Zeva said giggling.

Relutd walked in, looking around at the boisterous atmosphere, before walking to the counter, clearly out of his element.

“Can I get a bowl with fish, please? And maybe ginger?” He said quietly.

Tasha'vel had sat down at a table by herself and enjoyed a bit of her meal. She had noticed Ro,Bril and Zeva. She smiled remembering Bril from the masqerade she had at the estate, and then Ro and Zeva she remembered her daughter talking about. Her emerald eyes glanced back up towards the counter. She saw someone she hadn’t met before just walk in and quietly observed him asking about a fish bowl. It actually for today seemed a lot quieter other than Bril’s table.

“Well, it’s a good thing that I’m here then, huh? Two sets of eyes surely will be enough to keep your dad out of trouble,” he grinned before putting Zeva down. Then, he found a table for them, and used a small hand gesture to pull their chairs out in unison with the Force. He sat.

“This is just what I needed,” he exclaimed. “I’ve quite the appetite lately, for some reason.”

“Of course of course.” answered the woman who was actually shorter than the Nautolan. She set about cooking the noodles, ladling broth and plucked up several big slices of fishcake, a healthy helping of seaweed sheets and a large scoop of fresh ginger. Stepped over to the sushi station and picked up a couple slices of pink meat fish and a couple white fleshed, placing them on a plate next to the bowl. The older woman picked up the tray and took it to the register,“ Anything to drink?”

“Uhm… yes. Please,” Reltud said quietly. “Sake, please. Ginjo if you have it.”

“Would you like it warmed?”

“No, please. Chilled.”

The woman nodded, and pulled open the refidgerator behind her, getting a small bottle of Ginjo and a small almost bowl like cup, setting the cup upside down on a napkin on the tray,“ Alright, Fishcake ramen and Ginjo comes to 14 credits.”

Reltud slid the credits across the counter, and started to eat, with a very quiet, muttered, ‘Thank you’.

The blue skinned Twi'lek had already finished her sushi and about half of her ramen. She leaned back in her chair relaxing as she sipped her green tea. She closed her eyes a moment. “Mmm nothing like a good bowl of ramen and green tea.” After a couple moments enjoying her green tea. She smiled at Bril holding Zeva. She remembered her daughter talking about how she had so much fun with the youngling while being babysat by Rue.

“It’s good see friends just relaxing again after this damn war.” She said quietly to herself as she took another sip and rubbed her right arm.

The wind blew and with it a small woman in a green coat and a black hat came into the shop. The black scarf around her neck was pulled up and hid the majority of her face.

How long had it been since she went to a noodle shop? How long had it been since she had noodles she didn’t prepare herself? No matter.

She walked up to the counter and stood looking at all the ingredients, violet eyes taking in each item and waited patiently for someone to notice her. The small woman seemed to sway slightly as she stood as though moving to music only she could hear.

The small droid on her back held on and moved with her, whistling softly about something.

Mr. Colorful was still standing awkwardly to the side of the till, his noodles rapidly cooling. “So how much is this again?”

The young man who had assisted him, had been waiting to hear if he wanted the ginger turmeric tea he recommended, eyed him for a moment,“ 12 credits.”

He pull 20 odd credits out of a pocket and slides them across the counter without counting. “That should cover it, no change necessary.”

Grabbing the tray, the figure retreated to a corner, eyes locking on the door as he ate.

“ Uh, thank you for your generosity.”

Kalen, Corra and her father had decided to take Treel and Karracca out for dinner after dropping the droids off at a nearby mech shop/oilbath house.

After the round of appetizers arrived, it did not take more then a few bites before Karracca recognized that this was the establishment that his boss, the Brotherhoods Exarch must have used to cater his rescue mission. He fondly recalled wolfing down the noodle dishes and other culinary fusion offerings in the mess hall aboard the ECs new flagship, after the downing of the Urbanae a few months prior. Though the mission had been long, arduous and exhausting, the old rotund wookie specifically remembered loving the meal.

“Excuse me?” He roared in Shryiiwook at a passing waiter.

“Uh, can I help you? Sorry I dont speak wookie though.” The startled Sullustan said.

“I’d like to order the menu please.” Karracca growled with a grin.

Kalen snickered and shook his head before turned to the waiter and translating, “Uh my esteemed collegue here would like to order 1 of everything on the menj please.”

“Uh…wha..one of everything? Our menu has 48 different items, that might take a bit. Is he aware that that will be nearly 60 pounds worth of food?” The even more startled waiter replied.

“Mmmhmm, I guess he’s hungry.” Kalen replied after slurping a spoonful of the Nut and Nordwal Pho Noodle soup.

“Uh, alright, sounds good, I’ll put the order in right away. Would your collegue be okay if we were to bring the dishes out in stages, or should we bring over an empty table so there’s room for everything?”

Kalen looked to Karra who cooed, “Stages is fine.”

“Batches is fine with him. Thanks.” Kalen smiled and nodded.

“And I thought I had a big appetite.” Corra’s father muttered.
