Session export: Bedazzled Furies - Pro Bowl

TuQ stood on the edge of the city, outside possibly the creepiest looking building he had ever seen in his life. He couldn’t call it a home, because, well it didn’t look very homey. Though, he supposed in the most legal of definitions it would be called a house. The two story building wasn’t tall, yet it felt as if it loomed over the Kel Dor. Its walls appeared to lean at odd angles that shouldn’t be able to support its own weight, almost like a stack of wet cardboard boxes beginning to crumble. The dark paint on the exterior and the wrap-around porch were a stark contrast to the more standard look of the beige stone and gray durasteel of the houses and apartment buildings that filled the surrounding neighbourhood.

He double checked the anonymous message he had been sent and cursed. Sure enough, he was at the correct spot. The message had said that there was a mystery to be solved here which could lead to rich rewards. He had no idea who sent the message or if anyone else had received it, but if there were two things he enjoyed it was solving a puzzle and credits. If he could get both? That was a bonus.

Tasha’vel and Vance had approached the destination and landed, as both walked over towards the building before them, the Twi’lek spotted a familiar fellow, which she always recognized by his amazing wide brimmed hat.

“TuQ! You crazy bounty hunter! What are you doing here?” She smiled at the Kel Dor. “It’s been such a long while my friend!” She gave him a heart pat on the shoulder.

“So I did bring some extra firepower, This is Vance.” She gestured to the pink skinned Sephi wear a brown flight jacket and pants.

“He’s also a pretty decent shot so if it comes to it, I got your back.”

She grinned. “So lovely to see one of my favorite bounty hunters on this wild trip. So you got that message too huh?” She then leaned against the wall as Vance smiled and nodded to Tuq..“Nice to meet ya.”

Yeyu’s bright blue eyes observed the small group in front of the dilapidated house from behind the tinted faceplate of his helmet. His dark green Mandalorian armor helped blend him in to the dark surroundings. At his feet, a sleek black Vornskr lounged, looking very disinterested. None of these people were familiar to him, but they seemed decent enough with their jovial greetings. Though to be honest he’d rather have just come alone with his creature companions.

On his shoulder a blue-grey Pikobi ruffled its beak through its feathers, chittering so faintly it could barely be heard. Yeyu shifted his weight to move forward and the Vornskr rose fluidly to fall into step with him as they approached the others.

“Mind if we join as well?”

Lovely. More people.

Sanguis let out a heavy sigh as he approached the destination mentioned in the cryptic message. Though he had been tempted to forgo his curiosity, the Nagai was all but ready to do so until a certain half-Sephi he called his wife insisted they investigate after she caught sight of the mysterious missive. All it had taken was that determined*look* from Shadow before he found himself tagging along for his wife’s sake.

“Huh, I don’t think I recognize the Kel Dor, but hey, Tasha and Vance are here. Not sure about that Mando, though.”

Sanguis looked at his assassin with slight amusement, a wicked smirk replacing his earlier frown. “I know you have a thing for Mandalorians, love, but ogling is allowed.”

His remark earned him a scowl from Shadow, her eyes flashing with unheated annoyance. “Sanguis…”

The Marauder only chuckled in return, his amber gaze briefly alit with a warmth only reserved for her. “Easy, Ro. Just a little payback for you dragging me on this treasure hunt. Let’s just hope this hunt proves fruitful.”

Only when he was convinced that she wasn’t going to kill him for his playful jab at her late, first husband did he acknowledge the others with a curt nod as they reached them. “Greetings from the Empire.”

TuQ looked around at the group that had gathered around the front of the dilapidated building. He wasn’t quite sure what to make of the other invitees just yet, but it was always good to see a familiar face.

“Tasha! It’s been far too long! And Vance, a pleasure to meet you. I suppose you all received the same cryptic missive as I?” He gestured to the building behind him. “Shall we go in and see what this is all about?”

TuQ led the way towards the front door. As he passed the threshold of the property, a chill ran down his back. His first step onto the strange wooden porch let out an ominous creak.

Tasha'Vel followed and gave him a “Hope no one heard that TuQ.” look. As she moved inside quietly.

Looking about the entryway had some really old paintings covered in dust and cobwebs. She resisted the urgento sneeze as little dust motes flickered about in the sunlight.

Some of the furniture also cast dark shadows along the far wall. She moved carefully back against the side wall as she stalked down the hallway.

Vance then stepped carefully to the right covering the opposite side as his violet eyes gazed at a covered coat rack. He motioned for the others outside to follow. “Watch your step.”

The house they entered was eerie and yet somehow familiar. It reminded Yeyu of somewhere he’d been before, despite having never set foot in this place. Having been born on the rugged and wild moon, Endura, he did not often visit what others called civilization. And so this unsettling blanket of discomfort draped itself around the Mandalorian.

At his side Hei'an followed his steps closely, the onyx coloring of his body already making the Vornskr difficult to see. Their connection through the Force told Yeyu that the creature was just as on edge as he was. They threaded their way across molded, buckling floorboards while taking care not to touch anything.

“Seems like this place has seen better days…” Zei clacked his beak softly in agreement, his body pressed against the side of Yeyu’s helmet, “It feels very wrong…and unnatural here.”

Unnatural.

The word was both amusing and too familiar for Sanguis, though he held back the scoff threatening to escape his lips. His past and existence were unnatural, and he was no stranger to the cold, chilling atmosphere he had often found in the crypts of Korriban during his ancient days. For him, a place like this should’ve hardly been unnatural.

However, both experience and instinct refused to let him brush aside the prickling pinprick he felt in the Force against his mind. He brushed his hand briefly against Shadow’s, a subtle check-in that the half-Sephi responded to similarly in kind. “Reminds me too much of Korriban.”

Shadow nodded in agreement, though her mind drifted off to her expeditions in Ziost where the Dark Side dominated the planet in a far more twisted and malicious manner. “Makes me wonder if the treasure we seek is more dangerous than beneficial.”
